Model 2001 I30. A/C was making noises, and mechanic said is was the bearings in the A/C compressor going bad. He suggested replacing the compressor and the kit that goes with it from the factory in order to have the warranty in tact. Anyone had to do this and have suggestions?

What does the "kit" that goes with it comprise? Hoses, etc?

I don't know of anyone who has done this, though, so I'm not sure what to suggest.

well, the mechanic told me it was the compressor (w.clutch), drier and expansion valve. The price difference will be 900 vs. about 1500. The difference in parts is only 140 bucks.
