Okay, Iam stuck in a weird spot. Iam in need of a new motor. I have decided to stay N/A, cause I want to work on my driving skill and suspension before I worry about power. Which would you guys think would be a better investment a KA24DE or KA24E, which has the potential for more power(ya I know I said Iam not worried about power) I have read a bunch of posts that say the DE has more potential(cause 2 Cams) but then I have read where others say the E seems to be better for N/A power. Could someone provide me with some information to get me on track.
Also how much should I pay for a KA24DE/Harness/ECU?

you should be able to get a ka24de/trans/ecu for around 1000 in good condition. If not less. I would say the ka24de could make more power na. Get a ur pulley kit, cai, header, cams, ecu, exhuast and you could prbably run a high 14 na. I used to talk to a guy in florida with pretty much that setup and he ran 14.9's, and was really happy with the car.

I have a lot of friends in the used auto parts business. If you want I can see what kinda deal I can get you. I just bought a used motor with 5K on it for $650. I believe a new harness is $150 or soand I have a 96 ECU for a manual transmission that I will sell cheap. Like trueslide said, go with the KA24DE. I have almost the same setup and I ran 14.7, sprayin a 100 shot it runs a lot faster, hehe. Can't wait for my turbo kit.....2 months and counting.

Ok I just ran a search. All this stuff is in Virginia, 96 ka24de- $600 with 40K. 96 wiring harness- $150. 96 ECU- $250 but I have one that I will part with for $150. If you are lookin for a motor with less miles I can search a little more but this is about the price you are lookin at. Hope this helps.
