I searched, so don't even say it. And don't tell me to rebuild it, because it can't be rebuilt either. Now that is out of the way, here is what is going on...

I had my car at a machine shop to have a bracket built for the Hall sensor on my SDS system. They were kind enough to strip out bolt hole on the top of the alternator that slides back and forth in that slider bracket. I tried to drill and heli-coil it, but now the new bolt is too big to fit into the bracket. Everything else about the alternator is fine, it's just that damn bolt hole.

So what do I use as a replacement? I can't use a FWD Pulsar Alternator as it sits where the Power steering sits on the RWD CA. Does anyone have a spare? I don't care if it's bad or not, I'll have it rebuilt regardless.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please email me HERE

my advise would be to go and complain to the shop for a few hours, and if that doesnt work you can go home and weep profusely. and sorry i dont have an alternator for you. you have fun with that though!

drill the hole out and put a different thread in it and get a bolt for said thread.

i took the angle grinder to the place that the bolt goes through took a good bit of material off, then welded a nut to the tensioner peice and just use a bolt thats slightly smaller then the hole. but im also running a KA24e alt.

you should be able to just drill it out a little larger and use a stud and put it through that tensioner part and just tighten it up against the backside of the bracket.

Rafi, I may pick yours up, but I'm going to tinker with this one a little bit more. I don't think shipping from Canada to Kansas is going to be very economical. If I just can't make anything work, I'll shoot you an email.

TIM'S BACK!!!! I though you died bro!
