Could've had some sludge build-up that you moved into another area where it clogged up... Catalytic converter (The miniature muffler looking thing in the middle of your exhaust) might have become clogged.Alyx wrote:Hey there,
I recently noticed some trouble with my car, which is a 93 hatchback, automatic, with about 170k miles. I drove it pretty hard about two days ago, and since then I have noticed that the acceleration has been really laggy. I bought this car at the beginning of the year and as far I know the ka and everything in that area is stock, when I go to accelerate, my car refuses to rev higher, even with the pedal to the floor, and then after a few seconds it will finally respond. It wasn't doing this before really, but my acceleration has always been laggy compared to my friends ka. I have done some searching but I have had trouble finding people with similar problems, I know this is difficult to diagnose as there are many possible issues. I have had some transmission issues before this. If you need anymore information I will try my best to provide it.
Thanks in advance for any help!
p.s. I have been running my car with the AC pretty much the whole week, I don't know if that can have any effect on it.

I'm assuming you're pointing at the power steering line...bigbadberry3 wrote:Can someone please tell me what this is? I'm in the process of removing the engine and well I'm just perplexed. Any information would be appreciated.

Pretty sure there is no wiper relay dude. These cars have an "amp" that controls the different settings for the wipers.Telusethegoose wrote:Where is the windshield wiper relay located in the 95 240s? Mine keep going off at random times and I'm guessing that that is the problem, but i dont have a manual and the internetz has failed me. Halp?thanks. picture possibly?

The black one looks like part of the framing on the underside of the hood. The gray one welds in somewhere, but I don't yet have a clue where.Mitchum wrote:hey, im back, still piecing together my puzzle of an S14 ( I hate puzzles by the way...)
2 parts that I have no clue of where they go, any help?

Location: (I stole this pic from someone on 240sxforums)
I also read somewhere of someone with similar issues because a pin in the amp connector was bent.
Seriously dude... that amp is what acts as a relay for your wipers; there isn't another one. Some people may call it a relay...Telusethegoose wrote:Thanks for the information. Im looking into it more as I go, but I talked with a guy, friend of a friend, who seemed to be an absolute genius when it came to 240s, and when I told him about the problem he told me to replace the relay because he had almost the same problem with one of his three. I found a blue box under the driver side dash above the foot rest next to the clutch, but im not sure if that is it. Anyone want to identify it for me? haha
A link to nissan/infiniti FSMs are in my signature.but i dont have a manual and the internetz has failed me

Looks disgusting, lol.Telusethegoose wrote:I read your reply last night at like 2 in the morning so sorry if i made it sound like you didnt know what you were talking about lol It was just a bit too late to go check it out. I unplugged the connection where you said the amp was and found this..
Boned.
Thanks for the information once again.that s*** was bothering me so bad I just pulled the fuse out of my windshield wipers. not that I put much time into figuring out the problem from the start, I just bought the car two weeks ago
