Well, no more pressing need for me to look for a beater truck. My brother picked up a '72 Ford F250 Ranger Camper Special 4x4 with a 390 as a sort of work truck/project and will be leaving it at my place since I have gobs of spare parking. It's pretty fun. Interior is in great shape, exterior is pretty beat, runs and drives nice but needs some idle adjustment. Doesn't like to idle when warm, so the auto-choke might just need a little tweaking.

It's in surprisingly good shape. Power steering works great, radio sounds excellent, all electrical and lights seem fine except the high beams.

It sounds great, of course. But it's got stock cast headers and a 2-barrel so there's plenty of room for easy gains.

That is the epitome of old farm truck. Love it.

Tyler said the brakes are locked up. He said he didn't pay attention to the front wheels but the backs are locked up. I'm figuring the shoes are frozen against the inside of the drum. Have to figure that out cause I don't have a winch.

Hammer down. They'll self-clearance haha... just don't use the brakes at all.

Got any pics? I've been softly in the market for a while now.

I'm still here. I just wasn't gonna thread spam. Now that I've typed that out, that's pretty much the entire purpose of this thread, so I'm not sure what the holdup was.

Yay, it's....Wednesday for me. Blegh.

Story time, though. If you wanna go to the bar in your Corvette, have too much to drink, and then decide to drive home, you should probably make sure a cop isn't sitting across the street in the church parking lot doing paperwork. And if that situation just so happens to unfold, it's probably best not to drop it in drive (what's the point of an automatic vette anyways) and place your foot on the floor and do a burnout while leaving the parking lot.

Nah, he went to jail. Then wanted to argue that he didn't burn out in the parking lot. Best part was my camera was facing him the whole time while I was sitting doing paperwork. Idiots, man.

installed all stop tech brake components on the focus yesterday. sport pads, slotted rotors, and ss braided lines. i have to say, i'm very happy with the feel over stock, which i thought was pretty damned good for oem brakes. didn't go nuts with the new fluid (synthetic dot 3&4 off the shelf stuff, maybe prestone or valvoline. don't remember). i don't track it, so i don't feel it was necessary.

So I'm shopping for a vehicle and found out that my local Nissan dealer doesn't carry the Z, the showroom didn't have one either.

They don't have any vehicles with a manual transmission on the lot, new or used.

The f*ck is going on?

The market has shifted that way sadly and Nissan doesn't give a crap to stock vehicles they won't likely sell on most of their lots. A lot of other brands are that way too though. Ford, Mazda, Volkswagen, and Hyundai are the only ones i've seen stock any manuals at all. It's a pretty sad sight to see these days.

Holy s***, I just realized this is the original thread and not the cheap knock offs. I'm glad I banned that guy. Did he ever come back on a different account?

You know, this thread almost dropped off the front page, I have to say that's a little disappointing.

I've been a ghost around here for half a decade. I think its time for an update....

98%

My vision is still a bit different than it was. Rapid changes in focus are difficult. I also gained some weight due to being largely inactive for most of the summer, but I think I can work it off. Nobody said the road to recovery would be a straight one. Thanks for asking.

Kind of sad how quiet this place is compared to the old days.
