Also, how cool is it that the new servers are handling the original learned'd thread like it was a 1 page topic?
The switch over was a wise decision.

Aaaaaand, to this day, iPads remain a device without a real purpose. Awful for typing, wrong aspect ratio for media, to big for portability, and a GUI that makes horrendously inefficient use of screen space.

The primary purpose of most iPads is as pacifiers and PoS terminals.

I can't stand the whole electronic "parenting" thing. The damn iPad or phone is not your kids' mom or dad. You are.

never mind just parenting. it scares the s*** out of me knowing the things that kids can access, and likewise, the types of people who can gain access to those same kids. it's a scary new world we live in.

Which is why it's important to teach our kids that this is a danger they may have to face.
Some might say they are to young to deal with it, which may be true.
But they can be educated enough to realise what is going on and tell us as the parents.
Then we can deal with it.
Life was much simpler in 2005 when I joined Nicoclub.

Was behind a bone stock 1st gen Chevy Cruze in traffic yesterday.

It had a huge vinyl sticker on the back window that said "ELITECRUZES" and about 42 Hoonigan stickers all over.

BONE STOCK.

Dude, there's nothing f**king elite about your f#@king budget econobox.

Worse than f##king Civic drivers. At least they stick park benches on their trunks before acting like they drive something special.

You don't see me driving around with "EliteLS8s" stickers on my car.
Why?
Because I'm not a galactic-grade douchenozzle.
Nobody gives a s*** about my car except me, and I'm cool with that.

Heh, thanks.

I just meant I never quite understood the need to impress people with whatever cheapo car teenagers happen to drive. Drive a car for YOU, not for everyone else.

Thanks!

Yeah, the 2nd keyboard and speakers are for the Surface, which feeds the primary input of the top monitor. That way, I can watch videos properly when running fullscreen apps and games on the main computer. Its nice to have dedicated play/pause controls while in a game, as well as separate volumes.

I've thought about putting one of my little i5 machines back there instead of the Surface, but the Surface's Hello Camera unlock means I don't really have to use the keyboard much on that one, which is definitely more convenient. I just have a second mouse over to the side that I use to open up youtube or amazon or netflix or whatever.

I've tried apps like Synergy or Flow and such to use one mouse and keyboard across multiple machines, but it generally defeats the point of having multiple machines in my eyes, so I stick with two. Then there's a Thinkpad over on the left for things like google searches while the other two are in use.

U WOT M8?

Yeah, Tyler picked it up today and is taking to Datsun Ranch. Greg and Bex are gonna house it for me for a couple weeks till I can come out and get it. I'm super stoked. Needs some stuff done but I got it well under market value.

Tita, I'm a little jealous. Why you gotta one-up me like that?

I've been considering starting to keep my eye out for a similar deal. I'd like a riding mower but they're so damn pricey. I don't mind having to do a little repair work to get one for cheap, though.
