I want to turbo my 1990 D21 HB, yet I want to make power on the stock engine (KA24E). I can get HX35 turbo's pretty cheap, and the rest of the stuff required as well (I have a bov, injectors, intercooler, getting a manifold, exhaust will be custom fabbed as well as intake and intercooler piping).

Not thinking about any of that, what kind of power would yall expect I would make at 9psi, and would it be reliable (assuming a good tune, perhaps JWT w/o piggyback)?

Guessing you'd be in the 225-250hp range with that amount of boost. The bottom end should hold up. Do you plan to lower the compression to something like 8.5:1?

I don't want to change anything internal on the engine... How much whp do you think the motor could handle and at what boost level? At some boost level I will have to change the headgasket I am sure.

I am sure it will hold up at that boost level. Good luck!
