So I get home from school today, and I get out of my car, and I see a long scratch on the lower part of my hood. I get close and its a 1.5-2 ft scratch! Im pissed! Its not too deep, but it sucks man. What can I do to fix it? Would polish work? Would I need to get some touch up paint? What can I do?

First thing to try would be rubbing compound.. The compound and some terry cloths should run you less than $10 at any old auto parts store. I used Turtle Wax brand (Meguiar's wasn't available, or I would have used it) and it did a good job.

If that doesn't fix it, try touch up paint from your Nissan dealer. They sell touch-up paint in a can that has both a brush and a pen applicator, for use on various sizes and types of paint defects. They will need the paint code for your car, which is on a plate on the bottom of the b-pillar, so you'll have to open your driver's door and look towards the back of the sill plate to find it. It cost me $13, tax included, when I bought mine.

Hopefully it's not too bad that one of the two of these things won't fix it.

lmao I do the same thing, after a big scrape on my fender, but thats not working out for me anymore, it has too much bird**** on it that already turned to glue type of crap and I have a little cement spot on my door, lol drove by a construction area, got splattered. Anywho I think someone tried to impress someone so they used your car to slide on it, and I guess he/she had a key in their pocket lol.

Damage waiver? Or optional premium?

Waiver can mean you waive paying a premium and are responsible for damages.

Or it can mean that you will pay a premium so that you are not responsible for damges.

Did you read/have you read the policy you signed?
