*****EDIT*****my little brother is the one who noticed, not me.*****EDIT*****

i came out of wal-mart today and found that my V had been hit. luckily there was a witness that watched them leave. after being arrested they called me and wanted to pay me for the damage, but i already got the info so hopfully it will end well

what is everybodies opinion on getting it fixed at a shop that doesnt do collision repair? this is the same guy that wants to paint my car two tone.

WOW, that sucks bigtime! Only one day after you install your rims and then this happens. Sorry to see it, but looks like it should be some what easy to repair.

I hope those 'beaners' had insurance!

Don't.

take it to a collision repair shop, preferably the best around. Since it's on someone else's dime and you won't be paying for it, there is no use in skimping. Take it to someone whose job it is to get it perfect the first time.

THEN take it to your paint guy.

Good rule of thumb is to sit by a window if you go out to eat somewhere to keep a good eye on your car.

and always inspect for dents, flats, scratches, make the turn lights are working properly and headlights each time before stepping into your car especially at shopping centers/malls and generally where your parked next to other cars.

While on the other hand for old trashy, beat up/worn cars different story.

Whoever parked next to you or drove into you doesn't know how to drive lol. Thats sad about your car.

I'm assuming that you didn't read the initial post where he states that he was not in the car at the time of the incident...

I'm also on the list of those who were rear-ended. In V#1. (well, ended up being sandwiched, but STARTED by being rear-ended)

and I'm guessing it was just a joke. As in, Hey....let's get some more money by saying I was in the car and got whiplash.

But I could be wrong.

Well, to add to the weirdness, I rear ended INTO my garage when I was learning how to drive the stick in my Versa...

Good luck with that, hopefully he had insurance and they don't give you any trouble.

I too was hit while parked, by a friend though. Just $200 fix and repaint rear quarter, not as bad as yours.

You are so lucky that someone hung around to be 'witness' ... many of us aren't that lucky!

That pretty much sucks @$$ bro, sorry to see that, what is even worse is that it is on a part of the car that can not just get replaced, but rather has to be metal worked and that section of the car will now NEVER be as strong as it was due to the stress they are going to put on it reworking it to the original shape.

EV is most definently right though, if your guy does not know how to do collision repair, have it taken somewhere, especially since you aren't paying for it. That is bad enough where it will take a skilled metal worker to get it back and lined up correctly.

You woulda thunk it was you who hit someone since you are the "new driver with the wakaba"

The Hit: F'ín bastard! Take him out to a field and POW ! He/she probably said Ï didn't know!" B.S. I say!

The repair & colour: Leave it stock. No one wants to buy a screwed up car. Unless the 18 & watch too many of those movies they do that sort of thing. Don't be a "Vanilla Ice!"
