yeah if my z looked like that I would be crying but considering I crashed my car when I was the only one on the road I am not crying I am just pissed. Pot hole + slight course correction + very heavy rains = hydroplaning into guard railing.

When I say heavy rains I mean so heavy that I was going 35 in a 55 and still only had maybe 20 to 30 ft of visability.

Dont know if the alignment is messed up or not, the mechanic said it just looks to be cosmetic but we will see once they start taking it apart to fix it.

That sux, but i thought i was having a heart attack when i let my best friends brother drive my S2000 around the block, figure most people drive it before they try to get stupid in it, especial on cold roads with snow on both sides, and in someone else's car (february 2007). I'll never forget this one. But its how i got my Z!

Edited pic. Horizontal scrolling sucks.http://i25.tinypic.com/r9g8y8.jpg

Wow... if he wasn't seriously injured after that, I would have beat his *** until he was. You got the Z though, so I guess that's good.

u got a little lucky with the rear left damage...it just missed your door edge (they don['t usually pound out door edges, they replace the door entirely).

glad you were okay, cars can be repaired. I know it still uscks, I feel you. What trim is your Z? DO you have TCS or VDC? I drive pretty normal most of the time, but when I do drive like an idiot I can count 2 times my VDC saved my arse.

To the previuos S2K owner, which one do you like better? the Z or the S2K?

Honestly, the Z i like better, but there is always a place for a STOOK in my driveway. I'll tell you what, nothing makes you smile like hitting 9000 rpm's before its time to shift!.... The s2k was definitely fun, the Z i would say is faster, torquer, and handles a tad better, but the S is more comfortable and there is not nearly as much noise coming from the engine. The Z sounds a little rough compared to the S. And the S rides more comfortable. I will own another S one day. I would like to maybe buy another one after i turbo the Z. Then SC the s2k. But all of that requires money, which i don't have so, i am going to try to talk my GF into buying one when she pays off her saturn next year!

Test drove a Sky Turbo the other day. Not at all impressed. wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Everything was cheap interior, the handling was really loose/sketchy, and the pick up was not good for a car with 260hp. Not too bad in the straights, definitely a girl car. But for $32k should at least come with a power top, but no they do not have a power top for the Sky.... This one scored low on my test....

I drive a base Z bare to the bones except for what I put into it, I am used to no drivers aids in the racecars but I am thinking a little differently about drivers aids in my daily driver. Good part out of all this is that I am getting a new bumper to prep for a custom turbo instead of mines body components. But before the turbo just as added security that really wont do anything in the rain again but make me feel safer I think I am going to get bigger brakes.

Brakes don't work when you hydro plane, which i think you already know that..... don't waste your money, you don't need bigger brakes. A brake test was taken on these cars and the stock brakes non-brembo's are good enough for the car, even in autocross testing.

I know, it would just provide me with a false sense of security. Kind of like living in a gated community.
