ok heres the paint update..

This is 3 coats of midnight blue but NO clear, the only clear is on the door jambs, which has 3 coats of clear.

As you can tell the more clear the darker the paint gets.

So for now the paint looks dull, but jills painting clear tomorrow.

Also their are no pictures of jill painting the black, which was done first.Sorry.

SO this is the first pic of the black paint done and masked off.

















This is the first coat of clear.

The final product, 3 coats of paint and 3 coats of clear.





This is the wetsanding of the blue overspray





And the application of the Nissan midnight blue.









a little surprise to spice things up.



the black stripe running along the whole car.

it may look purpleish now and the reason being is the clear darkens up the paint as noted by the door jambs.

thats it tomorrow is clearing the car, painting the front bumper wheels and misc trim then final wet sanding and then shes all mine..

It really has come along way body wise and I'm really proud of the work jill did. look for us at the carslie show!

WOW. I am even more impressed every time I see this. Where exactly is this car? I'm only here till Friday, and don't think I'll get to see it. Then it's back to my full time sales job at Nissan so I wont be able to get around much this summer. Please keep her clean until fall?? Pleaaaase.

Is this the first time Jill has painted a car? Not bad at all. I would like to see the black all the way to the bottom of the car for the two tone look rather than the stripe, but it is afterall your car. You can tell I like two tone. I think the hood looks awesome.

Other than that, Nissan Midnight blue is drop dead sexy.. I mean like sex with the sexiest paint ever sexy....

On the other note, the CA is still not running. Im taking the car home this weekend to put her back together and hopefully get her running.

Im having this problem, when i first connect the battery the egi and egi pump relays (as labeled in the fuse box I believe them to bee the ECCS relay!) click like mad, and as soon as I crank the car they stop, also the brake light and seat belt lights stay on ALL the time even when I remove the key. Any of you swap gods, can you please let me know where and whats wrong with my wiring. PLEASE!!! lol

PS can i drive my car to your school and use your booth. i can do the painting and all, but god its so nice to be in a booth and be able to see and not be in a cloud of clear coat overspray haze

Yea jills name is on their with a sliver metalic sharpie, then cleared over...

and yea the wiring problem sucks man..

The paint is PPG and a siphon feed gun...

No this is not even wetsanded yet, which she did today, all thats left is buffing it up installing the wheels and bumper.

Damn man, this thing is nice. Makes me feel like crap because my S13 looks like such ***. Unfortunatly my highschool auto class never let me bring in my 240 because everyone there was a hardcore american car guy. I've been working on my CA swap for 2 years and still haven't made any progress, haha. Good to see there's someone my age on here will some skill and good taste Any plans to pursue automotive after highschool?

awesome man..I have to give it hands down that your school is WAYYYYY better than mine. I wish I had the awesome kick *** class at mine. Your teacher, friends and paint are freakin' awesome.
