HVAC Problems

I put LED's in my Climate Control a while back, and about a month later the air became stuck on defrost and wouldn't change setting no matter which button was pressed. A friend of mine let me use his climate control and it worked so I figured the problem was my HVAC. My car had also had problems cranking right up. Battery came to the point of death and I bought a new one put it in. Bought another one online and plugged it in (same day as I put in NEW BATTERY) go figure the thing works and air can be set on any setting. Take it out and put LED's in again....plugged it up, guess what. it wouldn't work again. and then my battery light came on, so after a quick drive to charge the car I took the LED's out and tried both systems neither of which worked. SO...is it the LED'S because same friend has them in his and he has NO problems. Or could the problem be in my wiring???
