stop pulling and try prying or hitting it with a hammer to seperate it from the engine maybe some Dumba$$ used silicone to seal the 2 together.

hit it with a hammer?!?! where? im not so sure about that. I think the remains of the clutch are getting in the way some how. because i removed the boot to the lever that the slave cylinder pushes. and just started pulling out shreds or clutch.

There has got to be a bolt somewhere still attached if you're pulling it that hard. no silicone or part of clutch that I knowof can hold that much pressure if your bending the engine mounts.

not exactly bending them, they were flexing and i figured i shouldnt pull any harder. It feels like it is attached. But from what the chilton book says i have taked out all the bolts and sensors. And i have spent countless hours under it looking for what could be holding it in. I AM OUT OF ANSWERS, that why i posted.

You can't always go buy what they say in the book. sometimes the book is wrong. But N-E way I'll research it in the morning with one of my mechanics for you. but go to 240sx.org and click on installs there is a clutch swap link in there with some nice pic's check that out maybe that'll help it has to be a bolt somewhere.

Ok I just got back from on of my mechanics he said that sometimes the trans will lock onto the front but if you kick it from side to side it should eventually come loose. He said You would have to hit the tail end hard or jerk it real hard from side to side.

i got it out... there were two bolts holding the pilot sensor in at the top, i took one out and thought that that was all there was, the heat shield was blocking the other one, and the chilton book doesnt mention either bolt. Once i got it out the transmission DROPPED! but the floorboard on the car is a really tight fit. Its going to be a ***** putting it back in.

No it won't. It's simple. Unbolt the downpipe and pull down on it, the engine will tilt backwards towards the firewall, then slide the transmission in. Takes 10 minutes if you know what you're doing.

when i did the reinstall on my 95 i turned the trans on its side and poked the throwout bearing. i pushed the trans til it was almost touching the motor and then turned it upright.
