9.5WHP? Yeah, that's not accurate at all lol. Maybe 1-2 tops. I still purchased a black set.

Wasn't another company looking to make these for us? Or was this the one?

EDIT: They have a dynochart on Ebay...interesting. Hard to believe this is worth 9WHP.

Yep this is the one and same. I'm personally going to hold out for R2C air intake system. Hopefully this is the start of many more parts to come for the Y51. LOL

I picked these up but if and when the R2C is available I'll just sell this off for someone who doesn't have the cash for the full intake.

9.5 whp is totally laughable. Any hp gain is laughable imo. Good engine bling but I wouldn't count it for anything else. I would also get a SRI or CAI over this (especially given the cost of $200).

Actually, now that I think about it, these probably are not going to give 9hp. That dynochart is not from an M56. How do I know that? NO WAY we lose 90hp from crank to wheel (329hp on the dyno? REALLY)? Most cars lose like 20hp.

I might have to return these and just wait for the R2C. Or go down the street and have my car dyno'ed before and after.

EDIT: ALSO, the Dyno Chart date shows a date of 2010...a date in which the M56 did not yet exist and only the M45 existed.

I don't like shady stuff like this and refuse to support companies who claim specific numbers for a product that isn't even for our car. Definitely returning/refusing package.

You have to install the plate frame and decals to get the full HP increase. :D

What color did you get?

So, I spoke with HPS themselves because the EBay vendor felt like I was wrongly accusing them of false advertising and had them call me.

HPS said that this is in fact a 2016 test for this car in particular and that the picture is just low quality so looks like it's 2010. The reason why their dyno number is so low is because they use a dynapak which normally reads low but allows for exact measurement of 'before/after' comparisons. He said they tested and re-tested and it also made like 7-8hp on a Civic...they couldn't believe it.

I guess I'll try it out and report back. 9hp is a lot, should easily be able to tell that on the butt dyno.

Here is a bigger image of the dynochart...right click on it and open it in it's own tab.

Did you buy one? If not, hold off and I'll probably sell mine to you when the R2C comes out. If you want. I got the black one so it looks almost factory or what not.

Although, what is the HP numbers supposed to be on the R2C? Maybe this is the better bargain?

I have not bought it yet. I will happily hold off and relieve you of yours when you upgrade to the R2C kit. :dblthumb:

The intake leaves the same restriction at the MAF. The factory tubes are not a restriction. I have no doubt that the stock intake is fully capable of providing more airflow than the engine can handle at max RPM.

These look cool and sound a little more throaty by removing the resonator boxes but otherwise they will make no measurable power difference.

But hey it's not my money ;-)

So I got these installed.

They claim a gain of 9HP and the bytt dyno feels good, but not sure it's 9HP good. I'm planning to get dyno'ed with my stock stuff and this stuff to see if it's really 9HP.

No problem. They came with nice hose clamps which I didn't use because I'll be removing these and putting the stock back on for the sake of the dyno in a few days. If these indeed give results advertised, then I'll use the nice clamps until the R2C comes out at which point I'll sell to Debonair so he won't need to spend as much hah.

EDIT: They also came with an HPS license plate frame and some stickers I believe.

Nice catch! lol. No, that stupid thing for some reason pops off and just hangs between the tube and the intake hahah. I don't know why it keeps coming off...I keep putting it back on lol.

I got mine today. The inside diameter is larger than the stock tubes. The stock tubes have a thick reduced inside wall. It looks like the HPS tubes give another 3-4 mm inside diameter. Not sure how that equates as far as performance gains, but notable.

I cleaned my engine bay a bit today and while trying to dry it out I took it for a REALLY aggressive spin up in the mountains/backroads. Don't know if it's still placebo effect of having a new 'bolt-on' but, especially 3rd gear, the car hauls. Cruising in 3rd at 50mph and dropping the hammer...the car gets to 100 REALLY quick.

Pics updated above with a cleaner engine bay lol :gapteeth:

Update: I did some UpRev datalogs tonight and sent them to Seymor so I'll hopefully get a slightly updated tune. Once that happens, I'm going to head down to the shop down the road and get tuned.

My plan is to do the following:

1) Get a dyno run with stock map, and stock intake setup (full intake with scoop and stock tubes)
2) Get a dyno run with stock map and modified intake setup (no intake scoop but with stock tubes)
3) Get a dyno run with stock map and modified intake + HPS intake tubes
4) Get a dyno run with modified map and stock intake setup (full intake with scoop and stock tubes)
5) Get a dyno run with modified map and modified intake setup (no intake scoop but with stock tubes)
6) Get a dyno run with modified map and modified intake + HPS intake tubes

Looks like I won't be able to do this for you guys until the end of June cause the guy is pretty booked up 2-3 weeks out and I need to drop the car off for the timing chain in 2 weeks.

Awesome! This will be great info.

I have a Dyno Tune set up a few weeks from now, it will be nice to get some baseline numbers from different cars.
