Excellent! Thanks. I haven't installed a K&N on my Vulcan S (after having one on my ZX6R) and will avoid it now .VStar650CL wrote: ↑Mon May 10, 2021 9:45 amK&N's are a bad idea anyway, for any engine:

There's pseudo-science and actual science, I prefer the latter.
Guess I and a bunch of others on the 4th Maxima forum (Maxima.org) got unlucky because it was brand new filters, oiled from the factory, that did us in. I haven't used one since and tell everyone and their mother not too.Pakitullanc wrote: ↑Tue May 11, 2021 7:08 amI purchased one from a member and he never had an issue either. I think over oil is what causes issuse. I will make sure mine is not.
Thx

Possible tune in the future to maximize performance. Input will be appreciated. Ik M56 is a 2" figured muffler shop and make it work.

Old subject, but i disagree. The panels are too thick. Broke one lid. $125 fir new one. Contacted AEM and they said there was a tolerance issue in the mold and sent me 2 new ones. They are older than my originals.
I think they could have designed the shield a lot better and used silicone tubes instead. That's just me thinking the traditional CAI vs the hot air shortram intakes. Post some pictures of the install and the butt dyno results. The larger 3.25" tubes should help with more air flow and power even if it's actually a hot air intake.misfit77 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 04, 2022 7:35 pmOld subject, but i disagree. The panels are too thick. Working on catch cans today and my other half of both air cleaner box are both broken and warped. So warped that there is a gap. That part is over $200 each. Not shared with the m37, so used parts are rare.
Some review on amazon said he trimmed it. It fits better but the damage is done.
I know it's not the best for HP, but i am just going to buy a HPS CAI kit. Cheaper and doesnt utilizes the OEM air cleaner.
You probably bought the wrong one. There's actually two different part numbers for the M56 on the AEM website. #28-50099 and #28-20409. They show the profile pics of the foam seal. The 1st part number should be the lower profile one. That one will fit with no issues. I'm not sure why they have two different ones.misfit77 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 04, 2022 7:35 pmOld subject, but i disagree. The panels are too thick. Broke one lid. $125 fir new one.
