How to tell if a car is 2004.5

Hi,

I just sold my 2000 Prelude and ive pretty much decided on a 350z unless a great deal on a g35 comes up. i want to know how to tell the difference between a 2004 and a 2004.5. The reason i am asking this is because there are so many more 2004's than 2005+ in my area. I read several times that the early 2004s had tire feathering problems while the 2004.5's were comparable in quality to the 2005

not sure what all changed at the 04.5 but I brelieve one tell tell item is the knee pad on the console for the driver

The tire feathering was an alignment issue. They revised the alignment settings and the feathering was fixed. So if you buy a 2004 Z just get an alignment to the new specs.

there is a thread on here somewhere that has the vin numbers on it to tell if its 04 or 04.5.... i'll try and find it
