My 93 doesn't put the windows up when I close the top, would be nice though!I'm almost positive it hasn't been modified, Was completely stock when I purchased it from the one previous owner.

No, you don't want that. It's not going to be sealed well that way. It'll be sealed better if you raise the quarter window later. If the window is not perfectly aligned with the slot on the top frame. Window will be pushed to the front and there's going to be tension on both window and top frame. You don't want that to happen.

did anyone ever replace the rear window seal, the one that seals the Door Glass to the quart panel Window?

where do you get this seal?

The seal is attached/glued to the glass and it's not something you can replace separately. It COMES with the window, so you have to replace whole window if the seal is bad.

Hey! I am having the same problem with my 240 convertible! I'm looking for the weather stripping for the driver's side quarter panel window. If you find out anything or any spare parts, please let me know! -Speedy

Ideally the center portion of the original plastic spacer is still there, just the wobblely bits that forned the guide are gone. The fix is simple:

Head to your favorite hardware store (Lowes, Home Depot) and pick up some nylon spacers. 3/8 inch thick, with (IIRC) 1/2 inch centers. The outside dimension is less than an inch. They will almost seem TOO small. Press these over the broken spaces that used to be on your guides (you may need to trim some of the remaining bit of the old guide.) and secure with a drop or two of superglue. makes sure the new rollers spin and the guide tracks are clean. The new wheels should fit comfortably inside the tracks. there will be more play then with he old guides, but it seems to work well.

The outer guide should mostly be in place, but likely has the end bit broken off. The the metal replacement discussed here works, but I was formed to use 14 gauge metal and learn how to use a Dremel. My efforts were *ugly*, but the third try worked.

That's almost prohibitively expensive. I assume that's not a NICO member overcharging for that.

how exactly did you align the window? by just raising it up and down continuously or is there a part inside the window that you have to adjust?

There are three bolts that attach the window assembly to the frame. (two at the top, one at the bottom) These can be moved up and down, and the offset of the assembly against the frame can be offset by adjusting these odd bolts. This gives you 3 levels of control for each bolt. The bottom bolt, for example can draw the unit in or push it away from the frame, effectively pivoting the unit on the top two bolts and adjusting the tilt of the glass.

I've tried 3 times to align, and still need a slight adjustment. There are 3 things you are trying to accomplish: 1. Raised (up completely against the stops), the window should seat nicely against the door window glass. 2. Raised, the door should be able to open without contacting the rear window glass, and 3. With the roof up and secured, the glass needs to be far enough forward to rise up in the channel of the roof without getting stuck. There is NOT a lot of wiggle room here.

I would start by trying to get the quarter window aligned with the door window (top down, both windows raised.) make sure door opens without contacting the window. Then raise the roof and try to get the window to come up in the groove without getting stuck against the roof. Give yourself a lot of time for this. Every adjustment you make will effect the others. This may take hours to get right.

I am having this issue and have no idea how to fix it because the photos have been removed from this, can anyone help please?

“I noticed my vert drivers side quarter window wouldn’t roll up so I started to do some investigating. I took off the rear interior panel and the trim that goes above the window. Still very hard to see in there. The window was loose so I pulled it out. When I push the window switch button up or down I hear the motor move up/down for about 3 seconds (idk if it should be moving for longer to get the window all the way up or down?)

Either way I have no idea how to fix this & it’s not easy to get a good view in there where the window guide is located. On top of that I don’t really know what it should look like inside there if it were hooked up correctly. Looks like some broken clips on the window?”

Welcome aboard Vinny!

You have 2 issues, separate and distinct. The motor or switch is having problems, which you can test with the window out. Let's make sure that's working correctly first. Your second issue is that the clips are indeed broken / missing. This kit should help: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Quarter-Window ... 4058174990

Pics from the repair article... I'll make an effort to see if we can track them down somehow. Hold tight.

Thank you! :) Again, I hear the switch move the arm up and down I just imagined the length of time I hear the arm moving up/down would be longer than just 3 seconds up for up and 3 for down. Could be wrong though!

Run it with the panel off so you can see it moving. That way, you can determine if it is moving through its complete range.

Thanks for all of the great info.

I assume there are supposed to be pictures, which would be super helpful, but I cannot see them. Does anyone know if there is a fix for this? Maybe I'm missing something obvious.

Thanks,
