how to check your crank angle sensor????

hi i was wondering how to check my crank angle sensor in my sohc 240sx?? i took a volt meeter and checked for resistance and i got like 5.5-6.5 . ppl told me thou thats noramal. how do i check the crank angle sensor nornaly thou???

you would have to take the distributer out and test it. The rotor needs to be spinning......Why are you testing this sensor? You do know you can flash the ecu and that would tell you if it's bad. flash it and see what codes you get. if you have an intermittent stall, w codes for ignition, transistor, and cas, your distributer is bad and needs replacement. CAS is a part of the distributer.

lol i dont hav a main battery fuse n nissian dealership is 25 mins away from were i live. Plus i dont hav a code reader and i cant rent one at my local auto parts store.

dude, you don't need a code reader, it's built into the ecu. Theres a setscrew on the back of the ecu. Use the Search for more on ecu codes and flashing. Get the fuse and flash the ecu manually. Thers a sequence you must follow when doing it. The ecu is located in the passenger kick panel. DO NOT remove the cover or the connector to the ecu harness unless the B- is disconnected, and even then do not c***.... ...... the harness while reinstalling it.
