before everyone responds "SEARCH!!!", i did search and i found the how to write up but it didnt say what sort of stuff to use when trying to seal it... i remember a while back someone saying to make sure you get all the sealant out after you open it and put new sealant when trying to close it...

so my question is, what sealant do you use and where can i get it? also how much.

hey bro, i saw that no one was helping you out so i decided to give it a shot,

so i searched on google "sealant for baking headlights" and found that a majority of the forums that i found have used silicone sealant.

but then i searched "silicone for headlight" and read that you won't have a fun time rebaking it if you ever had to. they said trying to pry it apart is like going through hell and back

i found a member on a site that said this, "I wouldn't use silicone. . use a rubber butyl caulking, you can buy the stuff Nissan uses which is rubber butyl, Part Number B6553-89915. It lists for about $15 & is hands down the best stuff for the job, I just got my roll in today"

right now i'm not even sure... at first i was thinking just going with eyelids but changed my mind. now i'm not sure if i should just spray them with the tinting stuff or if i should open them and bake them. if i open them and bake them, i'm not sure if i should just do the whole thing black inside or if i should don the inside black but spray the orange reflector with the tinting stuff.

what are you planning?

umm..

GE (Black) Window and Door Silicone at like- any hardware store- its like 4 bucks, and if u apply a large bead, u can smooth it around and if u ever have to take it apart, grab a sharp pocketknife and cut it through...

thts what i used for my retrofit seal, and its hella easy to pull off after u cut it down the middle

I've heard of folks using RTV Silicone Sealant as well...
