you do now that do convert to the 87-89 front end you'll need the hood, headlights, bumper cover and you might heven have to reshape the unibody to acept the partsand the ss bosy ti the same as the other 87-89's aside from the lip spoiler and rear spoiler

Really? that sucks.. because im not huge fan of the 84-86 front end due to the lack of curves on the front.

would you suggest just getting the MSA body kit instead of replacing the whole front end?

according to az zbums site the hood, headlight assembly's bumper cover and bumper bracing is all thats needed

here is a link to body kits on his page, courtesy of inqui-Z-torhttp://www.az-zbum.com/information.body.kits.shtml

my opinion, if you want an 87-89 go buy one, these cars are pretty cheap, it generally will cost more to convert than to just buy the one you want, that being said, I converted my n/a automatic to turbo 5 speed

Ha i would if i could.. but i found my Z31 at a used car dealership (buy here, pay here) because i lost ym job and im finally making some money and needed a car quick and found the Z and decided to get it..

Im getting a good deal on it some im not complaining.. but i really dislike the front of the 84-86.

i dislike it also its to pointy..but the 88 ss has more of a rounder point and dats why i would like to convert the hood, lights, and front bumper to an 88.ok and thank you evildky and xx rx xx for helping me out.someone had mention to me that for me to be able to get it to look like this i had to convert those parts and thank you for confirming that.also thanks for the body kit website.

I personally prefer the 84-86 because IMO the 87-89 look way too much like the s13 hatches do plus in 87 they deleted the sweet turbo hood scoop.

Uh no, more like the S13 hatch looks like the Z31.

As for the front end swap, it's pretty easy. The headlight and fog light wiring needs to be modified, cut those sections of the wiring harness out of the donor car and use that. The headlight area on the chassis have thin sheetmetal sections towards the front that will rub the 87+ headlights. Some people say you have to cut them out, but you can take a hammer to it and move it forwards a bit and everything will clear fine.

Beyond that, unbolt the front end parts, install 87+ front end parts. And you will need the actual bumper from the 87 unless you want to cut and modify the 84-86 bumper.

My brain like like a sieve. Fortunately, some of the holes got clogged so I just remembered this:

It's easy.

Kouki bumper cover, headlights, hood, TBO style lip, Modified Skyline rear spoiler, 200ZR hood scoop, Central20 or custom side skirts, JDM side markers....

First off, the cars you have pictured that you would like your car to look like are 200zr's. They have the early fenders with the later front bumper. If you truly want your car to look like those, you will need a different car (84-85).

But as Perennial BA siad, the front end swap is relatively easy. You just need a donor car.
