For fun I measured the temp of the two exhaust tips on my G35 sedan just after coming off the highway. The driver side tip ( measured just inside the pipe with an infa red tool) was 180 degrees. The other tip was only 90 degrees. ??????? Why such a difference? Is this a problem??

That's interesting. Is the exhaust a true dual front to back or does the passenger side branch off the main/drivers pipe? That would make a difference I'd think.
The other possiblity is a lean condition on the driver's side but that would have thrown a code.
The other possibility is that your car is about to blow up-just kidding.

The G35 sedan has only one pipe feeding one mufler that on the exit side has two tios. I was told by the Infinity salesman (ex mechanic) that the muffler has an internal flap ( reason for this I do not know) My thought is that it may be stuck or not able to move.
We really need an Infinity mechanic to step in here and give us the technical goods.

Reduces backpressure as you transistion to WOT.
Flow is a function of rpm and VE so light at idle and cruise that it doesn't matter when you make 5-25 HP.........................from idle to peak the flow increases 50 times
