Horsepower Question

How much horsepower would I gain by adding a cold air intake and a cat back exhaust system to a 96 maxima??

Approximately 4.5hp (or so) at the wheels, I believe.

You will get a better gain by spending the money on a y-pipe.

also it depends on the brands. i have intake headers exhaust and i have only increased approx 18-20 WHP.

18-20 WHP is still pretty good. but that fact that is cost you like $1200-1300 is the sucky part... lol

i got out a little cheaper than that, but not much. only have $1,000 tied up in parts and labor for intake, headers, exhaust, and UR pulley.

Depends on the car I guess. Dave put Cattman headers on his 2k2 and dyno results showed 30whp.

cattman headers alone gave him 30 WHP? those max's must have a crap design for exh manifolds

Exactly the reason I don't feel the need to get headers, unless I swap to a 3.5.
