I'm torn right now. Can't decide what to get. What brand of hid conversion kits should I get? I'm willing to spend up to $250. I want quality and look nice. I'm going with 5000K kit. Help me out. Feel free to add the brand of your kit. Thankssssss

I installed mine 2 weeks ago and they fired up every single time even in automatic. Good customer service too . Good luck on choosing ur HID, they look nice and bright at night

By the way, we have a customer that won the gallery contest this month and requested 6000K bulbs... He's supposed to be sending me pics as soon as he gets them installed. Would you like to see them?

If you're WILLING to spend that much, by all means, go with McCullough. People that have them really seem to like them and that's the big name everyone drops.

But you could save yourself some money if you get the X-Lights. Generic started it first and myself and some other members have purchased them and I love my x-lights.

What really is the difference between "generic" and name brand HID lights? Is there a difference in the life of the bulbs, quality/quantity of light emmited, customer support, warranty, etc? Do the 5000k McCullough lights emit better light than the generic 5000k?

By X-light, they might be referring to us, Omni X... I don't know...

Anyways, our 6000K are the only hyper injected 6K on the market. You will be shocked at how bright they are... They are actually brighter than standard oem, 5000K. Our 6000K produces anywhere from 13% to 20% more light output at the same color temperature than most popular kits on the market...

We recently had a winner for the March 1st gallery contest and he requested 6000K as his free set of bulbs. We would have mailed them to him for free, but he requested to pay for next day air. His set was shipped out on Friday, and he should be receiving them tomorrow... As soon as he get's the pics to us, I'll post them here so you can see what they look like. I love the way this guy took his previous pictures, becuase it was in a very dark alley that had next to no other light source - which allows you to see exactly what is being lit up by the headlights. I'll call the customer tomorrow and request the same type of pictures for the 6000K.

In the meantime, here's a review one of our previous customers wrote about that particular K-temp color:

Reviewer: richard from west fargo, ND United States "I bought these for my 2002 Impala LS and was blown away. I ordered them in 6000k, pure bright white light! The quality and amount of light for the price easily rivals systems that are twice the price! Will recomend to others!"

That review can be found here:http://www.omnixautosports.com...t.htm

No, X-Light is its own brand. Made in Korea, and it's of pretty darn good quality. I try to steer clear of the China made goods. I've had mine running for about 5 months now with no probs whatsoever. The 5000K is perfect in my opinion. I got mine from a local distributor, but there was someone selling them on ebay. He disappeared for a while, but I think he's back again.

From my experience with X-Light, and what I've heard from my friend who's been running them for over a year, I think it's a top notch, underrated HID set-up. You can find them online for probably under $85 and I believe it's worth every penny.

Here's a link zerothread?id=293744 on a "how-to install HID's" I did way back when. I think it will be helpful for some of the newer members.

alright.... top three are xentec, McCulloch and x-light. I can find online vendors that carry Xentec and McCulloch, but not X-lights. Of the three, X-light is the cheapest

Ahh...after some extensive searching, I finally found that seller. mcmotoring is his name, and his feedback (99.8%) is great considering the volume he moves.

Now I'm not endorsing this seller; however, I do think X-Light is a "best buy" in the HID department. Like I've said, I had no problems with my set-up to date. If anything should go wrong, I'll be sure to update everyone here. Good luck!

$80 is a very good price. I bought mine locally for $110 or something like that. You will not be disappointed by the build quality of the unit.

thanks everyone for your input. I appreciated it.

I just bought a set of 5000k X-light for $80 shipped and a set of 6000K Xentec for $75 shipped - both are off ebay.

Total of $155 is not bad for 2 sets.

I will take some pictures when I have time to install these for my low beams and fog lights.

Hey kuhan, how'd you rewire your fogs to the parking lights? Do they turn on and off independently?

I'm lookin for a pretty blue tint to my hids, with good usable light.

I would be stuck in between 20000K and 30000K because they have a deep tint to them but I don't think I would be able to see much. plus im not good on subtle differences so those might be way overboard and I just cant tell.

realistically I think 8000K will be good, what do you guys think
