I'm the new guy here waiting for the winter weather to subside.
This may have been a topic- but I can't find it yet.
Imperative to use premium unleaded fuel?
Thanks in advance.

Feel free to share what you found but the answer is sometimes. If you are cruising around town or on the interstate low octane is fine, if you are reaming the engine out then yes high octane is very highly recommended.

Read the owner manual, it generally tells you. If car is a much older one of course the premium currently available will not even be as good as old school regular was. And then there is the issue of whether you are in an EPA non-attainment area to have to use ethanol laced fuel as well.
