Hesitiation between 3-4000rpm

1991 240sx. When accelerating between 3-4000rpm, as soon as i hit 3000 there feels like the car looses a bit of power, (not much but i can feel it) then when i get over 4000 the power comes on strong again, the only "mod" i have done to the car is a catback with no resonators, to a tip.

Any ideas? what kind of symptoms will you get when your timing chain needs to be done?

my friend had almost the same problem with his rx-7. check the fuel pump, see if it has any sort of corrosion or sh*t on it and mabey if you have a friend with a 240 try and use his fuel pump. check the your grounds too.
