heres my scenario with two ka's.... TDC related

i got one with a spun rod bearing and the other the intake cam aint movin and i dunno y. i want to take the head off and put it on my other block..is it necessary to put the motor at tdc if im takin it apart and not putting it back together and how do i kno im a tdc on the compression stroke on the block that dont got its head on it?

First off you don't need it at TDC because someone else is putting it back together and hopefully they know how to do it on their own. Second, If the upper timing chain is not on nor the head then TDC is when your #1 cylinder is at the top of the cylinder. The compression or exhaust stroke are only relative to cam timing. So no cams= no problems.
