This was easy. My plug boot was pretty rotten from age so I could just tear it open with my superhuman strength! LOL! I hope this helps. My service manual clearly indicates that the 2 black wires with red dots are grounds that connect to the block with a common clip. I am still studying my 1984 FSM to see what the two wires in the boot do. My guess is they have something to do with the Thermal Transmitter. Anyway, here are some photos to study.

I connected those BACK up this morning and went for a ride, about 25 miles at first. I unplugged them. The truck ran so much better with them off than on. When I was upshifting the revs got really high when I depressed the clutch pedal to upshift. That was something it hadn`t been doing. So I unplugged the wires, like I said, and the high revs were still there for a bit then went back to normal. Not sure what that was all about. I`ll keep experimenting with it though. Thanks for your help.
