help with steering

hi, the steering on my car gets really hard after about 2 mins of driving.i am not sure if it's a faulty steering rack or a pump?there are no visible leaks, anywherethe car is a 1992 nissan 240sx (used to be hicas, had the same problem then)thanks alot

When you make a turn and let go of the wheel, does it try to come back to the center position?

it does try, but it comes back really hard... basically, when i make a 90 degree turn, i have to bring the wheel back to center manually, if i just let go of it, the car would just slam into the sidewalk
