Hi all, I am considering buying a Rogue. The dealership that I went to only had a few available in the blue and silver colors. He told me that they could order the color exterior/ interior combination that I wanted once I decided.

I can't really tell on the Nissan website or in the booklet they gave me, if the paint colors are more "flat" or "metallic" looking (it sorta seems like they are more flat).

Also, is the white paint is a flat white or a pearly white (like the Murano). I have noticed that some websites call it "Phantom White" and others call it "Phantom White Pearl".

Can anyone give me any insights on the Rogue colors?

Thanks so much!!!!!

I have the "Phantom White", and its pearlish Its not so much glamorously shimmering or anything, but its definitely not a flat white.

Except for the fact that white gets dirty quickly, I love the white

Since I don't really like white except some cars really good at white (for example 08 A6) then I would go with silver. But silver I think did not look really good on rogue and I was trying to get either black or orange. I wanted more orange because it would be something bright and different from other cars. In this city a lot of people driving dark or silver cars but caz dealer did not have an orange so i got wicked black very happy with it even that i didn't get orange one.

I was fortunate to see just about every color it was offered in. They all look pretty good. We got the Phantom white and is pearly. I really like it, but as mentioned, it can be a little harder to clean, but doesn't show dust like darker colors do.

We narrowed it down to orange, white, iridium and the other gray. The wife didn't want silver and we both didn't want another black car (we have 2 other black vehicles and they show dust and water spots like crazy). After seeing the blue, we decided against it. We thought long and hard about orange. The color is beautiful, but we decided to go with something less stand-outish. The iridium was nice, but a little too purply for our tastes, so it came down to white and gray. It was a tough choice, but we finally opted for the white and we're happy with it. If it was flat white, we wouldn't have gotten it. The pearl effect is very nice.

i bought the blue (deep marine blue as they call it here), it's metallic with a nice sort of wet look to it(must be part of the paint protection package, wax or glaze). i can't stop staring at it.

Are you introverted or extroverted; business casual or jeans; bubbly or sedate? I've noticed we tend to stick with the colors that suit our personality for home, clothes…cars…

But that isn't your question. So, here's a review of Rogue colors, along with the final pick for a 40-ish superfreaky yet must.act.normal non-techie techie (well, it pays well) child-free, childlike, smarter-than-she-looks, eclectic taste in décor, books, music, &tc., type:

Silver Ice – Flat. Boring. Dead. Matched the roof rails, however.

Orange Alloy – For the very bold artiste types only. Salesmen ridicule it. “There’s a buyer for every color.” Comparable to PT Cruiser fiasco.

Indigo Blue – Only the Boldly. Ah, to be young and bold and blonde and 110# and (I’d look like a granny in a Scion).

Phantom White – Pearlized, but it’d rained, and it looked like a dirty poodle on the underbelly. Yuck.

Gotham Gray – Very sedate and, yawn, not as eye-catching as some of the others. The only thing I didn’t like about my beloved (totaled) used Murano was its color: charcoal gray. Perhaps I’m biased.

Iridium Graphite 3rd choice – Deep brown-downed eggplant. New-car shine; slightly pearlized maybe? I could live with this; a tad dark, but…

Wicked Black 2nd choice – Started out as my first choice. New-car shine; pretty flat, however. And then I asked salesman about the mysterious Venom Red. Since he knew my penchant for sedate darker colors (and he didn’t have a Venom Red on the lot), he described it as a bright red. Ha-HA: I drove till I found a Venom Red in another trim line and found The Rogue Color of My Dreams; namely:

Venom Red – She’s No. 1! Yes, I bought an SL AWD yesterday in Venom Red with gray leather. It’s pearlized like crazy, like a luxury ride (at least, to my non-luxury-ride eyes). This maroon/burgundy is absolutely beautiful, and I love her, although she won’t arrive until later today (okay, I’ve driven a black SL AWD and seen a red venom S FWD, how weird is that?) Hope this helps, best wishes…

As you can see, color is a personal choice, as red would have been the last color on my list, even though our trade was a maroon F-150 which we did like. Personally, my favorite color is black, but as I said, we have too many black vehicles and now that we live down a gravel road, dust is a big problem with black.

Here is what we traded. Same color red??

Too bad the Rogue can't do what the truck could.... TOW!!

Very similar color red. It kills me how car mfgrs have 15 kajillion hues of the same color; even the same mfgr's cars are different reds, blues...

However, I love some of these browned-down reds. (The browned-downed redhead driver in your F-150 is lovely, too!) My husband drives a Toyota SR5 4X4; it's a close enough match to the Rogue's Venom Red that we'll match. Not that that's important. (Geez, I hope I'm not that femme...)

You're right. Color choice, like opinions, like orifi...we've all got 'em. And doG bless us one and all...enjoy your new Rogue, is the main thing. I know I will mine!

Red may be more of a feminine color, since my wife picked out the color of the truck. I wanted the charcoal gray. She said gray was too masucline a color. lol

The girl driving the truck is my daughter, although she's not a red head, just looks that way in the picture, but thanks, I'm sure she will appreciate the compliment.

Great descriptions everyone! I am now (I think ) leaning towards the white or red. The red sounds really nice and like something I would like. The dealer described the red to me as "candy apple" red, which is something that I would not like as much. But, a pearlized reddish/ maroon color sounds great (I really like the "Merlot" color on the Murano).

How about these rear visibility problems that I keep reading about? Has anyone experienced them? On my test drive the dealer sat in the middle of the backseat so I really didn't have a good opportunity to check it out so much (but I loved the way it drove so much I almost don't care!). I did notice that you don't have great visibility merging onto the highway, but I didn't think it was that bad. It somewhat reminded me of the Hyundai Tucson I had as rental when my car was in the shop for repairs.

Venom red is very similar to merlot (imho, best Murano color; however, my used Murano bargain was charcoal gray). Haven't seen a venom red Rogue next to a merlot Murano, but wouldn't be surprised if they weren't the closest color "match" so far.

As far as the Rogue's rear visibility issue: I heard similar concerns about the Murano before I bought one last July. As I recall, it took about a week to overcome any issues I may have had w/merging, parallel parking, &tc. Just last night in the Rogue, I quickly backed into a narrow parking space at a crowded convenience store like an old Rogue pro (while waiting for my husband to fill up his truck). Forgot all about any so-called "rear visibility" problems until after I'd backed in.

After dark, the rear-view mirror makes the rear glass view a little "objects may be closer than they appear," but I believe I'll even get used to that... in about a week. Hey, I've only had her a coupla days; give us time to bond. This is the best Christmas present ever, have a happy, cheers, chi

Like other's have said, I think the color you choose comes down to your personal preference. I chose the Silver Ice as I wanted a light vehicle for a change that did not show all of the dirt or rain spots a moment after washing it, but I thought the white was too stark. Also, I think that the orange is awesome color for the moment, however I feel as though it's a fad color, like the once trendy teal color cars and I intend to have the Rogue for years to come.

If only they had a tan version as an option, I would've been thrilled!

Mine is Indigo Blue Mettalic! I think it is the prettiest of all the colors & I get lots of compliments. That's the first thing everyone says the first time they see it is "what a beautiful blue that is!"

Prior to buying my rogue, I would never looked at red cars. But after seeing several colors, it was my favorite!

Congrats! You know I haven't seen a Venom Red Rogue, please post some pictures when you get a chance.
