ALright... here is my problem... I had the cone intake and everything was fine..

I just installed an Injen intake last night... basically switched the piping... Made sure all the plugs were plugged in and everything... was sure the MAFS was not dropped...

double, tripple checked everything. Everything seems fine...

but when I start her up, she idles fine for about 5 seconds and then she dies!?!?!?!?!

what do you guys think is happening? There is no check engine light or any other lights that come on... it just boggs after 5 seconds...

can anyone help me with this problem!??!!

how to fix it or try to explain to me what went wrong?

reset ECU and try again.if it still happens, clean the MAFS electrode and resistor gently by pouring a small ammount of rubbing alcohol over them and letting it dry.Make sure it is dry (no shiny appearance) before you try starting the car, and don't touch the interrior of the MAfs with your fingers as the oikls will ruin it.

I let the car sit there with the negetive terminal off the battery.. wouldn't that reset the ECU? but if not then I'll just go through the ECU itself...

yes, but it takes some time (not sure how long)

I usually just pull out the ECU and use the knob.

Car shouldnt be running lean. If anything it will be running overly rich.

It is most likely a MAFS problem. That could mean a couple of things. The MAFS is either dirty/damaged, or it isn't getting enough air-flow. Did you check the intake tube before installing it to make sure there were no packing materials stuck in there?

Could it be that you put the MAFS the opposite way? I accidently did that when I installed my intake and it did the same thing. Or it be what blackbeauty said.

Yea, if the car dies, it's probably vacuum related.
