help with 2.5 special edition. Camshaft issue

Hello everyone fairly new to the sentra world. Just purchased a 2003 nissan sentra 2.5 special edition with a broken intake cam that was installed incorrectly 3 times snapped in half. Never turned on though so everything is good just need to replace the cam and I will be on my merry way. My question is can I use an altima 2.5 cam base model that i just happened to have laying around??? Thanks in advance..

That's a good question... I'd say take note of the lobe positions as-is, and put the altima cam in as closely as possible. DEFINITELY turn the engine by hand after everything is put back in (remove all spark plugs, put a socket on the crank, and turn a few revs to make sure the valves don't hit anything). Hopefully it bolts right in. Definitely take pics and keep us posted if you attempt it!
