yes i know. lolbut i was told to remove the valve cover and see what the fluids look like inside to determine wether or not i have a blown head gasket.

you should look for water or muddy looking oil, which is usually the result of a blown head gasket.

Why are you suspecting a blown head gasket? What are your symptoms? More info please!

Yeah more details on the trouble would help. Also here's what mine looked like when I pulled the valve cover off for the first time. (Just for reference). I am not having any troubles now other than a slight "ticking" from the timing chain. In my opinion that "coating" is some type of oil treatment. I've been using seafoam in the crankcase before every oil change and it's getting cleaner...

what you show us in the pictures is no indication of a blown head gasket.

why dont you search to see how to diagnose it for yourself?

ways to look for bhg = check your oil and coolant for mixing, compression test, look for burnt coolant in your exhaust. none of these are surefire signs but they help.

thanks for the tips d!ck!

but from what i gather now, the prob isnt a blown headgasket.some one said that the problem might be the injectors sticking open or some crap

car bogging in 1st and 2nd gear nasty idlewhite-ish smoke from tail pipebad throttle responseaside from that, im pretty sure i have a parasitic load. i came to this conclusion on my own, so im not sure if it 100% true. this is why im looking for a wiring harness.

yeah your valve cover doesnt look like you have a bad head gasket to me, doesnt really appear that you have any water in it or anything, and to the guy who mentioned the ticking timing chain, its probably just the chain hitting the guides which is nbd, there is a how to forum telling how to remove the guides, i have it done to my s-13 and the chain is quiet as a mouse

before the the started bogging, it was idling at around 900...after it started bogging down, the rpms went lower and lower by the minute.went from 900 to 500 and went down to about 300 and it shut off and wouldnt start again

ok. sorry if im not making sense, im drunk.(don't worry about me being drunk and working on a car, im Mexican, i can hold my alcohol well.)

i was told my car doesnt run for 3 possible reasons.1. blown head gasket2. stuck open injectors3. bad wiring (parisitic load)

1. removed valve cover, thinks looked ok, i guess (according to NICO)2. drained oil. oil looks fine, albeit very dirty.

so that leaves option 3. bad wiring.so i conclude that my car doesnt run because the charging system is out of whack...

am i right? correct me if i am wrong, please...

no one has replied to this in a while, so i will untill i get some replies...lol

so i was working on my car today...nothing worth mentioning...

my friend said something that made me think...could my problem be my starter?

couple weeks ago when i was trying to get my car in the garage, i jumped it to try to unlock the steering wheel...i turned the key and the car wouldnt crank...even after a long while of charging.everything else turned on and worked...

Starter would cause it to not start, but not your other issues.

White smoke should be coolant from either HG or cracks in block. Just because the oil seemed ok doesn't mean it is. Pinhole leaks in the HG can cause white smoke and some bogging.

Is your check engine light on? I would first check your ECU for codes. Anything that would set a code could be a cause for bogging.

It sounds like you are trying to fix a number of problems all at the same time. I wouold start on the cranking over problem and go after one thing at a time. If you susspect the starter then can remove it and take it to most Auto Parts stores and they can test it for you. Same for the Battery and the Altinaitor.

Please provide more detailed symptoms and things you have tried allready.

I don't even know where to start...

Parasitic load? WTF?Are you really willing to track down a wiring harness and replace it because someone speculated that it was bad? You either need to pick up a manual or put down the wrenches. You have no idea what it is, you're 'helpers' have no idea what it is, and the chances of it being diagnosed over the internet by people who can't even see, touch, or hear your car is VERY slim.

Take it to a shop!

"help wit muh..." Really? You can't even compose a complete word or sentence when asking for help?
