I bought the Xterra from Nissan Dealer Used over 2 years ago just finally got a remote for it. Xterra will not go into Programming Mode and dealer stated the BCM is not appearing on OBDII device.

The Xterra's Security light does flash and when doors are locked with window down and door is opened the alarm does turn on.

Questions I have are;

Where is it located?

If it was unwired/disconnected how to reconnect?

Thanks in Advance

Forgive me for sounding dense. What is a BCM? I'm not familiar with that one, perhaps you mean ECM?

That module located behind the center consoles lower instrument cover (Behind the stereo and heater controls). Its a real pain to remove all of the plasit covering. Funny thing about a run of the mill OBD-scanner, they can't be used to reprogram key fobs. Nissan uses a special scanner that communicates with the higher functions of the Nissan ECM. I just had the ECM replaced in my2004 Quest and the dealer had to reprogram the new ECM to recognize the old keys and key fobs.

I do have the Remote Entry programming procedure for you to review.

IIRC its the Body control module. Door locks, seatbelts, alarm etc.
