hey guys... im building my ca up from stock finally and im just curious to know.. i think im going to be running a t3/t4 with port and polished intake manifold 3" exhaust, 444cc dsm injectors and a couple other things as well as some engine management stuff... but heres my dilemma ... whats safe boost on stock internals? if its only like 14 to 15 then is the t3/t4 even worth it? im really sorry i know its gotta be in the forum somewhere i just cant find it

The mistake you are starting to make is building the motor/adding bolt ons to suit the boost pressure...

Think about what your goal is first, then work backwards, this will allow you to make some informed decisions...

How the motor is tuned itself is the most important aspect if you want to boost an internally stock motor, there is no real set answer unfortunatley..

You could jam 13 pound into it and if the tune is shocking, kaboom... However on the other hand you could jam 20 pound into and if the tune is spot on it may live on for years..

Also, when you start discussing turbo's T3/T4 are the flange types on the turbine (exhaust) side of the turbo, this doesn't really give you the characteristics of the turbo you are considering... Have a read of this site:

Hope this helps you...

sorry the turbo i was referring to is a .57 trim turbo... my basic goal is to have a responsive street driven car with approximately 300 hp and 300ft/lbs of torque. i believe the setup i described is capable of this

You are definitely on the right track. Your turbo sounds like it will be a good match, but your fuel injectors are too small. You will want something in the 600cc range so you have room to play around.

550cc/min will get you to 300hp, but won't be much good for more than that, and I think its a good idea to go a little bigger than you think you need. If you get power hungry down the road (everyone does, its a disease!) you won't have to replace them.

If the engine is put together well, and tuned well, I see no reason you couldn't cram 20psi through it on a daily basis. You could also make a fair chunk more than 300/300.
