The company who worked on the car is going to deny liability as much as possible. Cars just don't immobilize themselves and if it was such an issue then Nissan would be able to fix it if it were that simple. They had the car, they were working on wiring inside the car, car immobilized itself while in their possession. Open and closed case, IMO.
Time to get a lawyer involved as at this point they owe you a car, the amount you spent at Nissan, and what it costs for a rental.
