The top reasons your HICAS light will go on:
(1.) Power steering fluid old(too much water due to condensation) or low, replace or replenish fluid. Check for leaks.(2.)If you car has had its battery boosted recently, the HICAS light will stay on for a bit. A good 30 to 40 minute drive will get rid of it.(3.)Sometimes a low battery will set off the light. I've had that happen. Get yourself a multimeter and check the quality of your battery (9.6volts and above is a good battery anything below should be changed out).(4.)Non Nissan alternators have been known to set off the HICAS light (amongst other things). Replace the aftermarket alternator with a genuine Nissan unit.
