Has any one replaced exhaust manifolds on this car. My mechanic tried todo this w/ o removing the engine and he says it's incredibly difficult. No clearance to remove them apparently.

Is there a trick to removing them? He said he tried to raise the engine slightly off the mounts, but no success.

Anybody have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

I've had them done by a shop before. He didn't have to remove the heads.

I did spray all the bolts with pb blaster for several days before taking it to him. I didn't want any of those bolts to snap.

In my case the bolts weren't a problem. Apparently there simply isn't enough room to manoeuvre them out of there.

Anyone else..........have something to suggest!!??

All kidding a side, after digging a little deeper and speaking w/ a nissan master mechanic in my neck of the woods, I found out the following:

The studs that are screwed into the head and anchor the exhaust manifolds need to be unscrewed. It's easy enough if they're not rusted in place and you have the right tools.

Just thought I'd pass on the info.........now back to getting mine off and replaced.
