HELP!!! I have tried everything I can think off to get this warning off of my internal display.....NOTHING WORKS!!! Can someone please tell me if there is a way of cheating system or (even better) fixing it. Here's what is going ..... I got the "brake Pads Worn" warning, so I changed brake pads (front and rear, with the rotors also turned), hooked up the sensors in the new pads. The warning was still there. rechecked the wires, everything looked good, checked the resistance of the sensors it read like they were good. Disconnected the wires from the sensors, first I left them as an electrical open....and insulated and secured them.....The warning was still there. Next I connected the ends of the wires together to "close" the circuit....still got the warning. Right now, I have them isolated from each other and isulated. Does any one have any ideas??

Also, my Power sterring pulp started making a "whrring" type noise and power steering doesn't work all the time. My wife told me say had been noticing fluid on the ground in front of the drives seat, (located of the pump) I checked it and it was low so I filled it up. Now I have the noise and intermitent steering. Any ideas??

The ECU is expecting a closed circuit or it will display the warning. As designed the rotor grinds the end of the sensor down and breaks the circuit ( think of it as a mechanical fuse ). Once the sensor is blown it must be replaced.

You may have a open circuit elsewhere besides the sensor, but this is unlikely. As a sanity check, disconnect the harness to the sensor and use a jumper wire on the two connections on the inboard terminal ( the ECU side of the connection ). The light should go off. Do this on both front and rear harnesses at the same time for extra measure.

Check to see if a previous owner/mech did the same "downstream" patch as described near the end in this thread...

Thanks for the heads up but I don't think it would apply here. When I first bought the car, the "Brake Pads Worn" warning came on shortly after getting it home. I replaced all 4 sets and the warning went away. When it came on again, I thought the pads had worn rather quickly, so I blindly went and bought another 4 sets and replaced them. The pads I removed seemed to be in very good condition but I was getting a warning....but safe than sorry, I thought. Now I cannot get the thing to turn off.

I will trace back on harness just to make sure, but it used to work...and I saw no reason for it to work again.

Any ideas on the PS part of my post........Anyone??

When you replaced the pads the last time how did the sensors look? Worn?

The pump might be on its way out. At the very least you'll probably need to have it rebuilt. Seal kit is pretty cheap.

The sound from the power steering pump is likely trapped air. Look at this thread http://www.nissaninfiniticlub....35784 for instructions on bleeding, or you can do a search for several other P/S threads. Of course if you have loose/leaking hoses these will have to be repaired.

Yes......

If you have a crack in a hose, then its probably air........ "It is written, that the PS pump lasts pretty much the life of the car" (my semi-Jesus moment).....
