First a little background, 02' I35 130k miles.. Installed all new coils and plugs 2 months ago, earlier this week bam, start running like crap. Horrible engine stutter in low rev band (ok in the high revs) codes pulled are p1800 (vias) and p0301. My questions are
1) any way to bypass the vias
2) any thought on what this could be
3) where can i find a vias and how do i change it

Thank you in advance for any info you care to share

The P1800 is a code that is either for a bad Vias solenoid, or bad wiring. I'm pretty sure that it's a code that doesn't actually throw a light though. I would just check to make sure that it got plugged back in from when you did the plugs and coils. It's located on the upper intake runners pretty much above the middle cylinder.

The p0301 is probably what is the culprit in what you are describing. I would start just by reaching in and wiggling the connector to that coil and see is that changes anything, and make sure that all of the engine grounds are in good condition. Cylinder #1 is the rear passenger side cylinder, and you can just barely get your hand in there to reach the plug on the coil. If that doesn't do anything, I wold swap a plug and coil from the front bank into the one cylinder and then see if the issue changes location with the plug.

Good luck, and welcome to NICO!

Thanks for the info. I'm trying to avoid taking off the intake manifold. Will

Perhaps my arms are to thick but I could only barley touch the coil, and shimmy the wires. No change. Could the coil go bad after 2 months? Wouldn't a bad coil affect the entire rev range not just the low end? It almost seems like it's struggling for gas, or air for that matter. Is there a "trick" to get at cyl1 without removing the uim? It rains EVERY day here in Nola and I don't want to get stuck with an exposed engine in the rain.

There's no trick other than contortion. I've had a few coils go bad on me where it only misses at low rpm and even that is only until it gets warmed up. If wiggling wires didn't fix it, your going to have to pull the manifold.
