I am new here and can use some help. I just acquired my mother in laws 1997 Q45T and was checking it out and wanted to get the fluids changed. Well the issue is the transmission dipstick is missing and I can't find it anywhere local or online. Nissan said it is no longer available.

So I have two questions, can someone that has the same car please measure the dipstick total length and markings from the bottom of the stick so I might be able to make one and how much trans fluid is needed when doing a fluid and filter change? I found one site that said 11.1 qts.

It would be worth looking in our classifieds for a part-out, and also at any pull it yourself salvage yards in your area. We have one nearby called Pull-a-part that occasionally has that series of Q. I would think any 97-01 would be a good donor.

Check with an Infiniti Dealer for the OEM part number and specs., or you may find an OTC store that can come up with a generic replacement.

the pipe plus dipstick may be avail:
Pipe Assy-Oil Charging
31080-6P100

the stick alone is
31086-6p000

trans is an re4r03a, but the fgy33 pipe/stick config is different from a g50.
