k, so I just installed my electric radiator fans, all was going well, I got to a BBQ just fine, and back, and it had alot of pick-up on the highway, I loved how it was driving, it was also driving really well when I went to a friends b-day after the BBQ. I got in it to go for a little drive, to get out of the house at the party, and it wouldn't run right.

it was stumbling after everyshift, it was really hard 'cause it wasn't letting me rev match like I normally do when I shift, and if I just put it neutral, the RPMS would drop to 100 and then come back, it actually died once.

at idle, the RPMS were bouncing from 800 to 850 and back to 800, but it did about every 10-15 seconds, it was fine in between that, it did it twice then went back to normal, then did it again for 2 seconds and was fine for 10-15.

I got up this morning and checked my ECM codes, nothing, all clear.

so I started it up, just to see what would happen, and it started, but went right intoa funky high idle thing ('cause it was cold, but the funky idle was still trying to be present) after warming up a little more, it got into a constant 800 to 850 to 800 rhythm that won't stop.

then I stop the engine to go inside and theres a whole lot of black smoke coming out, and the gravel is all black now too. This could be because I was checking the plug wires, unplugged one, looked at what happened, plug it back in and move to he next one, I don't think it'd them,

I did reach back to one of the idle control valves, the one with the purple plug, I unplugged it, and nothing changed, I revved it, still unplugged, and still nothing changed, so that may be the problem, but I'm open to more suggestions.

thanks guys,

so after seeing the black smoke, it's obviously running rich, what would 'cause that?

fixed...my universal cone filter had a chrome piece inside, it had come off and got sucked up into the MAF, and ****ed with it, took the chrome piece out and it runs fine now

most likely bad connection to shut off your cold warm up. it is like its running with the choke on, real rich. clean all of your connections on your engine harness. i used acid to clean the plugs and then neutralize with lots of baking and water. if that doesnt solve your problem, it is still probably your cold start not shutting off. thats what you should look into
