A bad valve stem seal will create smoke at start up. Car parked for a while, oil seeps through seals , combustion burns oil , making smoke. If not then its your turbo seal because the exhaust manifold/ turbo needs to be HOT in order to burn off any excess oil.Hopefully that will analyze things down for you..
So if it's the turbo seals you think it would overall disappear at higher speeds? I smoke a lil on startup (especially if sitting for awhile). It smokes just a bit at higher revs, but over about 3000 rpm the blue/white smoke seems to come back. Then i find alil oil in the BOVs and plenty in the exhaust and the back of my car! The last owner said it started smoking shortly after using a fuel additive....

Sometime , during idle the turbine shaft doesn't spin, givin low idle and not enough exhaust air to move it, therefor its easier for the oil to creep through the bad seals. As we all know theres no rubber seal in turbo to give it a good seal, so being that its a metal seal thing must be spinning for it to be effective. Anyways, pull off the DP and see if the exhuast wheel is black n wet.

when i start in the morning, no smoke at all.... then i start moving, no smoke...however, as soon as i stop/idle, smoke comes out..... and yes, it stops smoking when i give it gas, but starts smoking again as soon as i let go of gas... i'm hoping it's my turbo seal, too. i have to check this stuff tomorrow
