motor is a CA18DET, just got running good but i need to take care of this oil leak. Its coming from the intake side of the motor, dripping off of oil pan on intake side about 2-3 inches back from the front of the engine. The best I can see, its not coming from above the intake manifold so i think i can rule out rocker cover, and i'm not sure what external oil passages are on the intake side of the block. there is the oil filter housing and sender there, but I couldn't see anything there either. i dont think its from the oil pan because if i wipe it away it comes back real fast but from the left of the oil pan, the picture shows it all. you guys have any other ideas as to where this leak could be coming from?? I think next step is to remove alternator for clear view but I'd like to see if i can get a response first.

took off alternator, looks like its coming from between front case and block. guys think its a gasket or time for new oil pump?? if the latter, i tried getting an oem nissan pump a lil back but everything was on backorder and probably still is, anyone know an online place or local place where i could get an aftermarket oil pump for the ca18det (preferably quick)

pic attached, this is exactly where the leak is coming out of.

Well, even if the gasket is gone, it is a very good idea to replace the oil pump as it is a ***** to get and replace due to the crank sprocket.Try autozone, or any of the aftermarket part replacement stores.I got mine and it costed me roughly about $280 Canadian, There was a topic about where to find the oil pump and their prices posted here couple months ago. Try search it and see if you can find it, you might find some place that is close to your area that might have a pump.

Good luck,PULSAR GTRRafi

It's probabally just the gasket/RTV, but as other have said, since the oil pump is such a pain to get to, I'd replace it while you're in there. If you can't get one in short order, I don't see a problem with just re-sealing it.
