I promise you that you'll find a salesman willing to drive an hour or two to deliver a car to you. Especially if you're willing to pay a few bucks extra for it.
With 3 dealers within 20 miles and 4 more within 30 miles, I'd think Linda would be able to find at least one nearby dealer willing to search for her specified vehicle and do a dealer trade. Before I even had a chance to ask, my dealer assured me that they would be happy to do a dealer trade to get the exact car I wanted. And it cost nothing extra if it's within a reasonable distance. There are probably dozens of Iridium Rogues in the SoCal region, including a few that match the criteria.
Asking a distant dealer to deliver a car seems like it could create potential problems. You have to arrange a specific time for the delivery and test drive and hope nothing unexpected (personal or work) interferes. What if a problem is discovered while test-driving the delivered vehicle? Is the distant dealer going to be willing to drive the vehicle back, get the problem fixed, and re-deliver the vehicle? Or is it going to become the customer's hassle to make arrangements for the local dealer to fix it? Is the customer going to feel pressure not to be as picky when test-driving or looking over the delivered car? And the trade-in further complicates the situation.
With a nearby dealer arranging a dealer trade, you do the test drive and paperwork at your convenience. If a problem is discovered, the vehicle is already at the dealer, they either fix it or replace it, and at worst you make another short trip to pick it up at a later date.
Anyway, just my opinion ...
