Hello guys I need some help.. I have a 90 300zx tt and I recently got code 42 which I am aware it is fuel temp senor. I replaced it with a spare and still didn't fix it the connection looks good think I need to just buy a new one and the one I used could have also been bad. Anyway to test? I don't want to waste money if I don't need too. Also I know that can make the car run richer. But I can't tell if it's oil or carbon build up and the gas is shooting out which is turning black but my exhaust is shooting oil or gas all over the bumper and its kinda bad. Idk if it cause code 42 or I have an internal problem. You can smell the gas fuses and burning oil as well. If anyone could help that be awesome! Thanks

Welcome!
Generally the best path is to fault-check all components in a code-related issue, but in your case it's fairly clear that you also have some "old style" injector issues possibly playing into your problem. The old style are prone to electrolysis which ruins them, as well as issues with the crappy connectors as well as possibly a crispy harness...all common '90 issues.
Gas coming out the exhaust plus other fluids really only can happen from an injector(s) failing open due to one or more of the above, and the temp sensor could be reading correctly but reading a known fault reading, hence the code...bottom line is your fuel system needs a thorough checkup and maintenance either from a Z shop, or yourself with the troubleshooting area of the OSM found in the "everything you need to know about the Z32" sticky on the top of our page.
Good Luck, and post up any further info you get!
