The deepest/mellowest sounds I've heard come from BRM and Apex-i N1 setups. Greddy is a little higher pitched but doesn't buzz like a weedwacker.

Check out the exhaust thread and see what you think. There are a couple BRM clips in there, but no N1s or Greddys as of yet. It's linked in the Table of Contents stickied at the top.

I'm also trying to figure out what exhaust to get, but my '02 SE-R is a six-speed Spec-V.

Yeah, but it's in the table of contents. I just wasn't satisfied with what I saw there.

Youtube will be of service. There are a few B15 Spec V exhausts on there.

"02 Six speed Spec-V" is of no consequence in this case. jbarbaresi's '07 Spec has the same (albeit revised, but they sound the same) engine. It's a very good representation of how yours would sound.

The exhaust thread is a work in progress. It's not stickied because we had way too many stickies going on, hence the Table of Contents.

Like I said in your thread, it all depends on what sound you want. Power gains are going to be the same.

I'm liking the sound of both the EVO2 and the BRM, maybe the BRM a little better. What's the best deal I can get on the BRM? I should probably get 2.5 inch pipes, right? I know I'll want it stainless steel with a resonator.

Call BRM and talk to them about it. They only sell direct, so you're not going to find it anywhere else.

If money is really a concern, you may want to consider going with an alumized system. I've seen alumized BRMs and the coating is pretty tough.

AEM. I got an AEM CAI and I LOOOOOOVE it. Plus, you can find good, cheap deals on them on eBay, and their quality is great.

When you're not sure where to look, it's best to start by Googling the manufacturer.

http://www.stromung.com/

Contact and ordering info is there.

Greddy is a solid name. Their exhausts are higher pitched, so they're not my cup of tea, but they don't buzz too much.

I don't see anything other than Subaru stuff there. Doesn't matter, because I'm going with BRM anyway, but still.

I've got the WS2 from Apexi since september 2004. Can't complain about that catback. It got a fawking huge resonator, 2.25 piping. It can be loud at WOT, but on the highway with cruise control on, at 2500rpm it's kinda of ''quiet'' for an aftermarket catback. The only downside of this catback is it ain't full stainless steel. Only the muffler part is, the rest is made of alumized steel. Yes it can rust, but are you gonna keep the car more than 10 years? I've checked mine lately and damn, here in Quebec, there's ton of calcium and salt been put on the road on winters, and the catback isn't close enough to be rusted to maybe starting to believe it may start getting hole in it. And one other thing, since my B15 is dropped on NF210 from Tanabe, the catback knocks sometimes on the axle back. Alone in the car don't hear it knock, only if the road is in bad condition. But with a rear passenger, it knocks a lot. Some others persons had this issue too.For the price, quietness, the WS2 is a good product.

Paco, email them.

D3stro, get us a clip and put it in the exhaust thread if you can. That'd be quite helpful.

Both CAI's offer the same power gains and the same sound, so go with whatever you can get cheaper.
