A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

Ok, so my gf, has had a SER Spec V for about 5 years, 3 of which it has been sitting at her parents. She took it off the road as soon as it was throwing codes for the cat/O2. So I put a new battery in it, shot some starting fluid in the throttle body and put about 3-4 gallons of new fuel.

This is how it goes:

It will turn, turn, turn, and after about 30-45 seconds it will almost turn over. Its like it isnt getting fuel. It will get to the point where it is just about turn over, the cylinders will start combusting, and the engine will shake horribly but not turn over.

Also, it isnt throwing any codes since the engine isnt even starting. Any help will be much appreciated before I start doing the usual list of parts to replace. ie.) drain and flush fuel, oil change, change plugs, all filters, clean MAF and replace cat/mani with headers/cat.

Thanks!

Needs an ecu, wife's car did the same thing. ECU is covered under warranty 8yr/80k miles, don't let Nissan tell you otherwise.

I'll have to check the mileage. Even so, I found one near me at a junk yard for $125. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I'll update my progress on this thread as I go along.

You can't use just any ecu, they must match code wise. Even then you have to get the anti theft reprogrammed once you get the ecu installed.

Yeah, I already knew that. In fact, I was thinking about going with the correct ECU minus the security system, so I dont have to worry about it.
