Hello everyone!

I am a new member of NICOclub, though I have been reading the forums for a long time now. I just wanted to say Hello, and I am a proud owner of a 1993 Infiniti J30. I love this car and have plans on restoring it. I picked up my J30 very cheap, with about 110,000 miles, and some slight damage. Various things need to be fixed, ie: Seats are torn, Radio doesn't work, Gauge Cluster is worn/cloudy, Steering Wheel is worn, Carpet is stained, Needs new window motors... And mechanically, needs a power steering pump, and new front suspension, along with general filter replacement, fluid levels, spark plugs should be replaced, and rotors/brakes should be re-done...

I don't mind doing any and all of this on my own, as there is a lot of information on these boards. I just wanted to introduce myself and just let people know that there is another J30 owner out there who is willing to restore an amazing vehicle.

I have been looking on ebay, and at local salvage yards for various parts and accessories. My main concern at the moment is fixing anything mechanical, such as the power steering pump, window motors, and removing these 20" chrome rims that the previous owner had on it. I need to replace the front suspension and check all rotors and brake pads. I will most likely replace the lug nuts themselves as well. Overall the engine runs well, and seems decently responsive. If anyone has any advice for me, as I am new to Nissan/Infiniti, please feel free to let me know.

I will take pictures tomorrow, before work, when it is nice and sunny here in Florida. P.S. about the rims, I have found some G35 rims that I'd like to put on the J30.

Cool, congrats.Sell the 20s for some cash. I would start by getting all the basic maintenance done. Make sure all fluids are good, get ready to do the 120k maintenace, clean up the MAF, throttle bodies, maybe run some Seafoam through it, cheack all the hoses, etc. That way, you have a good, clean, smooth running engine to start with.Good luck, post up if you need help, but there's a lot of info to be found with the search button.

Look for a metal tag under the front bottom side of the hood to see if it shows the Timing belt was replaced at XXX miles.93's didn't come with a kevlar belt.60 K is the OEM spec for replacing.

Oh yeah .. WELCOME TO NICO !!!!

Thanks for the warming welcome and the kind bits of information!

This place seems VERY informative and mature, from what I have seen so far. As far as the 20's.. Yes, I am selling them! I recently got pulled over because I was mistaken for a local drug dealer.. Hah. But in all reality, the flashy rims aren't a thing for me, I'd rather have a clean looking, well-taken care of car.

Also, I will definitely be doing the full maintenance on the car very soon.

If anyone has any tips from their experiences with the J30, or anything you have done to your ride that has worked well, please feel free to let me know. I will be checking through these threads looking for interesting ideas or any other information that can help me. And yes, the search feature does come in quite handy. Unlike some, I prefer using the search button before asking certain questions. Although, sometimes someone may have some input on a subject that might not have been covered yet..

Regardless, everyone take care and be safe. Hope to hear from you all soon, and will post pics up (probably today) of the car in it's current state.
