My name is Dan and although I don't have a Cube yet I hope to soon. I want a "1.8S" with 6 speed and they're darned hard to come by. I checked every dealer from Nashville to Knoxville to Chattnooga and found nothing. Several 1.8's with 6 speeds but no 1.8S's. Since I used to live in Central FL I even checked there.

I finally located one in Daytona Beach. Just so happens, that's where I got my current lease truck from. The lease on my 06 Frontier is up in October so I contacted the Daytona dealer about returning my lease and buying a Cube. So I'm driving down there on Thursday and picking up my Black Cube 1.8S with 6 speed. That seems like a long way to go to buy a car, but it's OK for me since our son and his family live in FL., I'll visit while I'm there for a couple days...LOL

BTW, my son got me into sport compacts several years ago and I'm active on some Ford Focus forums. We had several hooked up Foci and do all the work ourself. We've done literally 100's of cars over the past 7 years, everything from Turbos, Superchargers,, Suspensions and everything in between. I'm really looking forward to doing some similar mods to my Cube. Looks like a great forum here. - Dan

Good to see someone else from TN. You should try and make it out to the Import Alliance fall meet near Opry Mills!

I talked to Action Nissan in Nashville and they should be getting a load of Cubes coming. Not sure what specs they'll have, but there's a decent chance they'll have one that is configured the way you want it.

I actually picked mine up this past Thursday in Daytona. The problem I found with the Cube is when most dealers order, they only order the standard 1.8 with a stick. Pretty much anything else (like a 1.8S) they usually order the automatic. According to the sales folks at Daytona they order them with automatics because unlike many cars, there is no cost difference between the automatic and manual. Anyone can drive an automatic so their stock sells faster. They said that most folks who want a manual usually want a base model. I guess that's good thinking on their part.
