The heater matrix is the radiator or heat exchanger inside the facia or dashboard of the car. It's usually the first part fitted inside the cabin (in my opinion) and normally a pig to get at, hence the query. Not sure what the american(sorry, canadian) version is called.

Maybe you mean the heater core? Its what we call it here. I've heard its a pain in the @$$ to take out but it can be done without removing the dash. Do a search for heater core removal and you should find something about it. I know I've seen walk-throughs with pictures somewhere about it.

Ahhh ....AKA the heater core. Yup, it's fun to change alright. Did mine over a year ago. 2 ways to do it

A. take the entire dash apart and out...set 2 days aside

B. take the underside portions off and cut/rejoin the heater pipes. 2 hours work.

I chose B as if it didn't work I had an entire other set of the pipes. Hasn't had any issues or leaks since doing it. I didn't want to disassemble the entire dash as I was more worried about ending up with potential rattles and fitment of it going back together.

Why are you removing it, is it leaking?

*I have some photos and my writeup of when I did mine (check your email)

Yes it's leaking. Don't really want to use a sealant as it could cause problems elsewhere. Many thanks for the translation and the info. Appreciated.

One other question, what is a globe box ?

Most likely a typo for "glove box", haha.

The little compartment on the passenger side in the dash
